Tokyo Disneyland World Bazaar
After guests pass through the main gates, they will arrive at World Bazaar in late 19th century through early 20th century. Marceline in Missouri, where Walt spent his boyhood, inspired World Bazaar. It is located in mid western in Missouri and the town was born by opening of Santafe Railroad. Its population is just 5,000. But World Bazaar is filled with a lot of memories of his family.
The elegant Victorian buildings remind guests of nostalgia and they will lead guests the Kingdom of Dreams and Magic.
Unlike the other Disney theme park, World Bazaar has glass roof called "All-Weather Cover". This is due to much rain in Japan including Tokyo. Total 4,000 special glasses prevent guests from rain. The original All Weather Cover design created by Walt Disney Imagneering was close to Japanese style. This design was rejected by Oriental Land Co. as they preferred European /American style. They knew that Japanese guests did not accept Japanese style in this kingodm of dreams and magic.
The structure of World Bazaar is also different from Main Street in other Disneyland Parks. Center Street crossing the Main Street, connects Tomorrowland and Adventureland. In other parks, you must walk on Main Street to Plaza, then you can go to Adventureland or Tomorrowland unless you ride railroad.
