Like Disneyland Resort and the other parks, a Tokyo Disney Resort ambassador is selected from all the cast members every year.
(TWO ambassadors were selected for the year 2008.) The original ambassador program was started in 1965 at Disneyland as Walt Disney spent the busy days and on behalf of him, he wanted someone to present Disneyland attraction and guide the special guests at Disneyland.
The past Tokyo Disney Resort (Disneyland) ambassadors were women, though men can also apply. The term of service is Jan1 through Dec 31 one year. The ambassador candidate nominated goes to U.S.A for training prior to inauguration.
The Tokyo Disney Resort ambassador presents TDR at T.V. and radio program for advertisement, visit hospitals, welfare facilities (often with Mickey & Minnie) such as nursing institutions, hosts the VIP and so on.
So where and when can we see the TDR ambassador in the parks? Actually you have less chance to see her in the parks.
Jan 1: Tokyo Disney Resort Ambassador Inauguration Ceremony at Showbase (The ceremony is held in the morning. You will see both the previous year’s ambassador and the new ambassador in that year)
: New Year's Greeting Parade at Tokyo Disneyland after Inauguration Ceremony. (Ask a cast member for specific time.)
: New Year's Greeting Parade/Show at Tokyo DisneySea (Ask cast member for specific time.)
Dec 31: Tokyo Disneyland Countdown Parade
The other special ceremony (Xth anniversary opening ceremony (X=A multiple of 5), New attraction grand opening ceremony, Welcome ceremony of the XXX,XXX,XXXth guest etc)
